Madison garage fire causes $21,000 in damage – WKOW

MADISON (WKOW) — The Madison Fire Department put out a garage fire on the city’s west side Wednesday after a resident heard a “loud popping sound.”
According to an incident report from the MFD, firefighters responded to the 2300 block of Quartz Lane Wednesday at 5:05 p.m. The resident had gone outside with their dog after calling 911, reporting the popping sound and smoke coming from the garage.
Fire crews found a car on fire in the garage, and took just 15 minutes to knock down the flames. The fire was contained to the garage, and the residents were not displaced, but $21,000 in damage was caused.
