Gamers Nexus | Phanteks Enthoo Pro 2 Case Review vs. Lian Li O11 XL

Phanteks’ Enthoo Pro 2 case is a “full tower” PC case for dual-system builds & water cooling builds. Its most direct competition is the Lian Li O11 XL.

The Phanteks Enthoo Pro 2 is a large SSI-EEB (or, cringe, “E-ATX”) tower, particularly geared toward high-end dual-system builds or toward water cooling builds. The case is trying to compete with the Lian Li O11 Dynamic XL for status as the best water cooling case. We did radiator size and compatibility comparisons between the two, but also ran thermal tests for the Phanteks Enthoo Pro 2’s fabric mesh front panel. This is a new marketing gimmick in the realm of airflow, so we thought we’d test the panel on vs. off, dust filters on vs. off, and other combinations thereof. Note that, of course, static pressure performance greatly affects the numbers coming out, and so higher speed fans will minimize the differences between these two. Running slower fans, like we did in one set of tests, will show more of a difference — but it’s still a small one. Most of the time in this one is spent in the build section and radiator compatibility sections, as it’s obvious that the most important aspect of the case is related to water cooling and large system support, not necessarily just airflow. That makes it difficult to fit in our testing approach, but we made it all work.
