Davis, Davison propel Badgers to big win over Marquette – WKOW

MADISON (WKOW) — Sophomore sensation Johnny Davis continued his scorching start to the season, putting up 25 points as Wisconsin cruised by in-state rival Marquette Saturday, 89-76.
Fifth-year senior Brad Davison added 20 points, while freshman point guard Chucky Hepburn posted 15 points and six assists and Wisconsin used a strong second half to pull away. The Badgers led by just three at the break, although the lead swelled to 20 late in the game.
Wisconsin’s defense suffocated Marquette for much of the game, holding them to just 44% from the field and 34% from deep. The Golden Eagles’ starting five combined to shoot 4 of 17 from behind the arc.
Sophomore big man Steven Crowl continued to round into form, knocking down 15 points while shooting 2 of 3 from deep. His 8.6 points and 5 rebounds per game are already more than double his averages from 2020-21.
Wisconsin will look to continue its surprising hot start in the Big Ten conference opener against Indiana Wednesday. The Badgers still have not lost with Johnny Davis in the lineup.
